We do a lot of localization, distribution and support work for other companies. This has become a major part of our daily work over the last years, mainly for Mac OS X. Ulf Dunkel loves languages, is a really excellent native German speaker and an educated salesman with over 20 years of experience in software development and distribution. You can also use our contacts with other native localizers and find partners for other localizations.
There are several ways how we could collaborate. Here are some suggested models (A to C):
We do the full localization of your application, its manual and web pages for a fixed price, that we agree upon first. Regular values are something between 500 and 1,000 EUR. This would also include localization updates for the whole major release. If your application is currently at e.g. v1.4.6, so this would include every update until the release of v2. We are allowed to sell the German version at a provision base of X% of the end user price (before tax). This also includes support for the German customers of your application.
We do the full localization of your application, its manual and web pages for free. This would also include localization updates for the whole major release. If your application is currently at e.g. v1.4.6, so this would include every update until the release of v2. We are allowed to sell the German version at a provision base of X% of the end user price (before tax). The provision should be significantly higher than in model A. This also includes support for the German customers of your application.
We just do parts of the aforementioned work and and agree upon a price beforehand.
We do prefer model B, as it reflects the ongoing work for future versions much better than model A where you and we would have to stop somewhen in the middle of the development and beta phase for a coming major upgrade release just to negotiate about a new one-time payment for the localization work. It even works better when your company doesn't want or cannot bind too much money for localization work in the development phase. Model B works more elegant for all of us.
There are several ways how we could sell your application for you. We can handle the sales through our own web page scripts as you can see for other products in our main site DSD.net, e.g. here:TidyUp Product Pages
We would then build a page group for your application and offer it for direct purchase through our site, like shown here:Purchase Barcody
We can handle most credit cards (AmEx, Diners, Mastercard, VISA) directly, while German customers even prefer direct debit from their German bank account which we also prefer for German customers. It has much less additional expenses on both sides. And German customers really trust in bank transfers.
We also support PayPal, Kagi, Avangate, and eSellerate. If you already use Kagi or eSellerate for your products, we could also assign some Affiliate links or SplitPay stuff. We are not yet registered at SWREG, regNow or other online payment systems but would do if this would help configuring a sales and provision
workflow which fits your needs better.
We will also have to check in which way we can get the match codes for our customers and how you can get their contact data for your data base and maybe additional support or advertisement.
We're already doing several ways, including
We are known as a serious, solid and studious localization and distribution partner. So we might also help bringing you in contact with our localization partners, e.g. for a French version of your application. They may ask for other payment and/or distribution methods, of course.
So it's your choice. We're ready to do the localization and distribution work, if you are interested in a long-term partnership.
It's your turn.
